One (not so) fine morning

The Alexi Freeman Pop-up Parade at Flinders Street Station yesterday made for an early morning walk in the rain. The sun wasn’t shining over our way but the clothes were - it was a strange and entertaining setting in which to view garments from the new Diamondiferous collection.

We imagined that the models might have more space to roam, around the station’s columns, up and down the stairs … but it was good to be in close proximity to the pieces and the finishing touches - the scarves, the belts, the tassles.

One passerby tried to steal the limelight but the printwork could not be outdone…

… Alexi’s original patterns, digitally printed this season onto a range of luxurious fabrics, are made up of countless tiny triangles - one version in pastels and the other in white, black and the shades in between.

The soundtrack for the event was some kind of slow-building powerballadrockanthem - Alexi told me what it’s called and I’ve forgotten, but it was great. Well done AF and models. To see more pics of the event, have a little look at our photo album on Facebook.

*The pre-show song was Shine on you Crazy Diamond by Pink Floyd, and the show-show music was the Led Zeppelin cover of Smoke on the Water
